Seven Years of Saundh: The Story We’ve Built Together
Seven years can be measured in many ways: in cities, stores, milestones, collections, or numbers. But for Saundh, seven years are better understood through the people we have met, the places we have become a part of, and the many moments that have shaped who we are today.
In 2019, Saundh began with a simple thought: to create something rooted in India, informed by a deep understanding of textiles, and made for the way people live today.
What began with one store on Pedder Road, Mumbai, has since travelled across cities, grown into new spaces, found its voice, and become a team of people working towards one shared idea.
As Saundh approaches seven years, we look back not just at how far we have come, but at what made the journey possible in the first place.
Before There Was Saundh, There Was Fabric
The story of Saundh began long before the first store opened.
The story of Saundh began long before the first store opened. For years, our founder, Sarabjeet Saluja, worked closely with fabric, understanding it through experience. Textiles became more than a material. They became a way of understanding movement, texture, construction, craftsmanship, and the possibilities that could emerge from them.Over time, that experience led to a more personal thought: what if this understanding could become something people could experience and make a part of their everyday lives? That thought became Saundh.
For Sarabjeet, the intention was never simply to create more. It was to create something that felt right.
“It was never about creating more. It was about creating something that feels right, easy, honest, and close to everyday life.”
That thought continues to sit at the heart of Saundh even today.
Our roots remain deeply connected to India's textile legacy, shaped by decades of material understanding, technical expertise, and an appreciation for the endless possibilities of fabric.

A Feeling Became a Name
The word Saundh carries a feeling that is difficult to explain but easy to recognise. It is the scent of earth after the first rain. Soft, grounding, familiar. A feeling that takes you somewhere without needing to say where.
That feeling became part of the spirit of the brand.
Saundh was born from India, from its textiles, its traditions, its colours, its craftsmanship and its everyday stories. But the intention was never to simply look back. It was about taking that familiarity and allowing it to evolve.

Inspired by India. Crafted for the World.
That became more than a line. It became a way of thinking about the brand.
The idea was to create something that felt connected to where it came from while remaining open to where it could go. Something contemporary without losing its roots. Something distinctive without losing its sense of ease.
And so, Saundh began its journey.
Where It All Began: Pedder Road, Mumbai
In 2019, Saundh was introduced as a contemporary Indian ethnicwear brand, opening its first flagship store on Pedder Road in Mumbai.
Every journey has a first step. For Saundh, this was it.
The first store was more than a physical address. It was the first place where the idea of Saundh could come alive and meet people. It was where conversations began, relationships were formed, and the brand started learning what it meant to become part of someone's everyday life.
Then came 2020, bringing another important chapter. Saundh launched its e-commerce website and began selling online, opening the door to people beyond the cities where we had a physical presence.
By 2021, the journey continued into cities such as Delhi and Jaipur.
And by 2022, Saundh was finding its way into more conversations and more communities, with a growing presence across places including Juhu, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh.

With every new city came something new to learn.
More importantly, we began finding our people.
Growing Into a Community
A brand can grow through stores, websites and collections. But its real growth happens through people.
As Saundh expanded, so did the community around it. New cities brought new customers, new conversations, new perspectives and new ways of experiencing the brand.
By 2023, something else had begun to take shape. The design language of Saundh was becoming more defined.
Prints, embroideries and silhouettes began to feel increasingly like a part of the brand's own visual vocabulary. At the same time, more homes opened across cities including Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Kolkata.
But behind every store, every website visit and every new chapter was a team.
People working across design, production, retail, operations, technology, marketing, e-commerce and countless other functions were contributing to the same journey.
Some roles are visible to the customer. Many happen quietly behind the scenes.
Together, they form the everyday work that keeps Saundh moving.
Seven years of Saundh are, in many ways, seven years of people showing up, learning, adapting, solving, creating and growing together.
From Clothing to an Experience
As Saundh grew, our understanding of the brand grew with it.
By 2024, the conversation was becoming less about simply what we made and more about how everything around Saundh felt.

The experience of entering a space. The atmosphere of a store. The feeling of discovering something familiar in a new way. The conversations between people. The small details that make a place feel welcoming.
We began thinking about Saundh as more than clothing.
Our stores became spaces where people could take their time, explore and connect. The brand began to extend beyond what was hanging on a rack and into the experience surrounding it.
Growth, for us, was not simply about becoming bigger.
It was about becoming more ourselves.
And perhaps that is one of the most meaningful parts of the journey: watching an idea gradually find its own language.
A New Chapter: Khan Market
Saundh opened its doors at Khan Market, New Delhi.
From the first flagship store on Pedder Road to another new space in one of Delhi's most recognised neighbourhoods, the distance between those two moments represented much more than geography.
It represented years of learning, growing, building and becoming.

Yet even as the locations changed, one intention remained constant.
Our spaces are not meant to be simply places to shop. They are designed to feel warm, lived-in and inviting. Places where people can slow down, explore and connect.
Khan Market became another chapter in that story. Not an ending, but another beginning.
Seven Years Later, The Story Continues
Today, Saundh exists across cities, through stores and online, and through a growing team of people who continue to shape the brand every day.
A lot has changed since 2019.There are more cities. More people. More stories. More experiences. More possibilities. But some things have remained the same.
The belief in fabric and its possibilities. The connection to India's textile heritage. The importance of creating something that feels honest and familiar. And the desire to make things people return to not because they have to, but because they want to.
Seven years cannot be measured only by milestones.
They live in the first store and the newest store. In the people who joined the team along the way. In the customers who became part of our story. In the cities that welcomed us. In the countless conversations, challenges, ideas and ordinary days that quietly built something extraordinary.

To everyone who has been part of Saundh's journey, thank you.
To the people who imagined it, built it, worked alongside it, supported it and believed in it, this milestone belongs to you too.
Seven years ago, Saundh began with a thought.
Today, that thought has travelled much further than we could have imagined.
And there is still so much ahead.
Seven years down. The journey continues.
